BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Pollution Prevention Division's Compliance Assistance Section received the 2016 Training Program of the Year Award from the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association Florida Chapter.

The Award was presented for a series of six storage tank inspection instructional videos developed in-house by Pollution Prevention Division staff. These videos were all produced under contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and posted on the
FDEP Storage Tank Compliance web page. The six-video series for underground and aboveground storage tank systems was developed in four languages: English, Spanish, Hindi and Creole.

The State of Florida's storage tank regulations are complex. The purpose of this project was to present these complex regulations in a simplified manner for owners and operators, helping them to attain and maintain regulatory compliance.

At this time, the videos have amassed more than 4,500 views, proving to be a valuable resource in compliance assistance statewide.
