BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Animal Care and Adoption Division reminds all pet owners to bring and keep their pets inside during the upcoming cold front.

The National Weather Service advises a cold front is scheduled to move across South Florida with lows plummeting into the 40's and wind chills in the 30's tonight into Thursday morning and Thursday night into Friday morning. Daytime highs are forecast for the mid 50's Thursday and mid 60's Friday.

"Here in South Florida, the cold air can be hard on pets who are used to warmer temperatures," said Dr. Tim Johnston, Veterinarian, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division. "We recommend that all pets be brought inside to ensure their comfort. During walks, short-haired dogs may feel more comfortable wearing a sweater, since they can become easily chilled."
