WHAT: Two interactive YMCA-sponsored workshops get under way at Franklin Park in April. Diabetes Self-Management meets once a week for six weeks starting on April 8th and continuing on April 15th, 22nd, and 29th, and May 6th and 13th; the program is on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8PM. Participants will learn how to use diet, exercise, and/or medications to manage their diabetes or, if they're not already diabetic, how to lower the chance of getting the disease.

Matter of Balance meets on Thursdays from 10AM to noon starting on April 9th and ending on May 28th. Participants will learn to improve their balance, flexibility, and strength to reduce their fall risks at home.

Both programs are free thanks to funding by the Jim Moran Foundation. Refreshments will be provided for each program.
