BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County pet owners who wish to have their pet spayed/neutered through the County's SPOT Program must apply by Saturday, August 8th. SPOT applications will no longer be accepted after this date. The SPOT (Stop Pet Overpopulation Together) Program allows Broward County residents who meet eligibility requirements to spay/neuter their dog or cat for a $10 co-pay.

In June, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division announced that it will begin to phase-out its SPOT spay/neuter program in preparation for a new sterilization program for residents' pets.

Applicants who apply to the current SPOT program and receive vouchers will be required to redeem them with participating veterinarians by September 15th. This will allow enough time for veterinary clinics to send in their reconciliation reports to Animal Care so they can be reimbursed for the surgery under current SPOT Program funding.

For other low-cost spay/neuter options, residents can visit the Broward County Animal Care website.
