BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward Cultural Division and Port Everglades welcome a unique national exhibition! Into the Pixel, An Exhibition of the Art of Video Game at Port Everglades Cruise Terminal 21 consists of a group of artworks hand-picked by the Port and the Division from the Into the Pixel national collection. The artworks are currently available for viewing by passengers and the community by special invitation.

Into the Pixel is sponsored by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences to showcase visual story telling created for video games from 2004 through to today. Winners are chosen annually by a panel of judges from both the field of video games and from art museums and the winning artworks are displayed at industry tradeshows. Into the Pixel, Port Everglades will remain on view for the next year.
"It is envisioned that this exhibition will create a noteworthy and welcoming visitor experience and fun environment for our multigenerational and diverse cruise passenger population," says Steve Cernak, Chief Executive Port Director at Port Everglades.

The exhibition includes 14 high-quality digital giclee prints. ESA is making the artwork available to select public entities at no charge in order to promote video games as an art form; bring more attention to the skill and creativity of the artists; and highlight career options for artists.

More than 20 Florida colleges and universities offer degrees in computer and video game design. Florida is a leader in the country in the number of video game education options for students. These schools are preparing new developers to help lead this growing industry and create remarkable works of art like those in this exhibit. This educational exhibition is intended to show the work of artists that design for the video game industry; they are not for sale.
