WHAT: BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Everyone knows that when it comes to watching fireworks displays, the higher up you are, the better. That's why Vista View Park in Davie has become a popular spot for Fourth of July Fireworks Viewing over the past several years - the park's hill, at 65 feet above sea level, is the highest manmade elevation in South Florida.

Last year more than a thousand people took in the fireworks from atop the hill, and this year promises to be no different. Dependent on weather conditions, visitors may be able to see the displays from Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Sunrise, and possibly even Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood. Most of these pyrotechnics are scheduled to begin at 9PM, but you're welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets and come early to get a good spot - the park opens at 8AM, and the entry fee is good for admission all day; present your receipt for reentry. Admission before 7:30PM will be the park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free); admission will go to $2/person at 7:30PM.

You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments, although no hard liquor and no glass containers are allowed. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis, and no fireworks (including sparklers), grilling, or horses will be permitted in the park for this special event. Also, the park's shelters and playgrounds will close at 7:30PM.
