Festival Art Celebrates Our Environment

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The power of art meets the power of community for an Environmental Art Festival, on Saturday, April 20th, from 11AM to 4PM, at the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) at Carpenter House at Hollywood North Beach Park. The event is a partnership among the center, Nova Southeastern University, the City of Hollywood, and Free Our Seas & Beyond, and the emphasis is on our interconnectedness with the ocean through art.

Last year the inaugural event attracted more than 1,500 visitors to enjoy nature-inspired exhibits, as well as upcycled and recycled environmentally themed works of art. The art festival follows a Beach Cleanup, which runs from 9 to 11AM. Also included will be live musical entertainment, food trucks, children’s activities, vendors, and a community art installation. Visitors will be able to see the MEEC’s resident sea turtle, Captain, receive her lunchtime feeding. The family-friendly event is free.
