FLL's Holiday Music Showcase Returns for 32nd Year

- Hundreds of students to entertain airport guests -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – It's beginning to look a lot like the holidays at Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). FLL's terminals and concourses were decorated earlier this year to usher in the jolly season and get guests and employees in a festive mood. Next up, a wonderful chorus of holiday jingles and seasonal songs will fill the airport's hallways during the weeklong Winter Festival of Music extravaganza.

Hosted in partnership with Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), the 32nd edition music festivalwill run from Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 13th, 2019 from 9AM-Noon in select locations across the airport’s four terminals and Rental Car Center. Additionally, afternoon performances will take place on Tuesday, December 10th, only in Terminals 1 and 4, from 2-5PM.

This year's musical showcase will feature approximately 1,600 student performers from 33 Broward County elementary, middle, and high schools in a variety of performances throughout the week. The performance lineup includes bands, orchestras, choirs, roaming carolers and dancers.

"It is an honor to host so many young and talented children during one of the busiest times of the year," said Mark E. Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation. “The students' performances help enhance the positive experiences our guests enjoy as they begin their holiday travels to visit loved ones.”

As an annual tradition, the Winter Festival of Music celebrates and supports local student musicians in addition to helping make travel less stressful and  enjoyable for passengers during the busy holiday season. During the performances, it's heartwarming to see travelers stop and participate by singing and dancing with the students. For holiday travelers, it's a treasured FLL moment that is often shared via photos and videos on Twitter and Facebook.
