Volunteers Needed to Help Cleanup the Central County Waterways at Delevoe Park

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Monthly waterway cleanups are held in Delevoe Park at 2520 N.W. Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale, and the community is invited to participate. The Wildlife Research Team, Inc. is hosting two waterway cleanups, one on February 7th at 10AM and the other on April 11th at 10AM. A brief "Canoeing 101" is available for first-timers. Community service hours are offered for students. Parents or guardians must sign a release form for minors to participate. To register, please contact Donna Kazo at paddle4research@yahoo.com

Next month, the Marine Industries Association of South Florida is hosting its 38th Annual Waterway Cleanup on Saturday, March 7th, from 9AM to 1PM. Volunteers make this popular event a success. Last year, nearly 18 tons of trash and debris was removed from Broward County's waterways.
