BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Broward County Commission on the
Status of Women will celebrate National Women's History Month in March by
honoring nine Broward County women who exemplify this year's national
observance as "women providing healing, promoting hope."
The honorees will be featured throughout
March in an exhibit in the lobby of the Governmental Center, 115 S.
Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. It can
also be viewed on the Commission on the Status of Women's website.
The honorees are (in alphabetical order):

- Iris Gonzalez
- Sarah Leonardi
- Glenis Ortega McEwen
- Jackie Rosen
- Laura Valentine Shapiro
- Andrea Sleeper
- Beth Tache
The Board of County Commissioners will present a
proclamation recognizing National Women's History Month on Tuesday, March 1, 10 AM,
during the County Commission meeting at the Broward County Governmental Center.
The Commission on the Status of Women serves in an advisory capacity to
the Broward County Commission and through education and advocacy, identifies
and helps resolve economic, health and social issues facing women in our
