- Quiet Waters Park hosts weekend camping getaway -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Sometimes you don't need to go physically far away to experience a getaway - maybe you just need a little change of environment to make you feel like you're on vacation. A Summerscape Family Camping Weekend at Quiet Waters Park (401 S Powerline Rd., Deerfield Beach 33442; 954-357-5100) may be just the ticket.

There will be such a weekend August 12th through 14th, starting with check-in at 3PM on Friday and ending two days later, with checkout at 1PM on Sunday. In between, you'll experience such activities as Saturday-morning water sports, a family barbecue that afternoon, and a movie in the evening. Campers are on their own for dinner both nights.

The campground occupies a slender, lightly wooded peninsula jutting out into one of the park's lakes. You don't even have to bring your own tent - each campsite features a sturdy 10-by-10-foot tent fully set up on a concrete platform. Sites also include fire rings, barbecue grills, picnic tables, water and electricity, and access to showers/restrooms.

Preregistration and prepayment are required. The fees are $100 per campsite for up to four campers, and $10 per additional camper, up to two. One adult camper age 18 or up must be included at each campsite. A refundable $50 security deposit is required at time of check-in (debit or credit card only). Each registered camper will receive one Splash Adventure water park admission.

For further information, call Quiet Waters Park at 954-357-5100.
