City of Weston Family Volunteer Day at Markham Park

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The City of Weston in partnership with Broward County Parks and Recreation will be hosting the Family Volunteer Day at Markham Park (16001 W State Rd. 84, Sunrise 33326; 954-357-8868) on Saturday, December 3rd. The event will be held from 9AM to 1PM. Broward County Parks is working toward rehabilitating and restoring the natural resources of South Florida as well as providing a place for families to enjoy outdoor activities and the surrounding environment. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in helping to clean up Markham Park and providing a restored habitat for plants and animals.

Volunteer to be a part of protecting and conserving our environmental resources. Service hours will be awarded, and volunteers will meet at shelter #7 for the park cleanup day event. An educational table will be set up with displays on recycling, proper fertilizer use, composting, and other ways to help the environment. We recommend volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, reusable water bottle, sturdy shoes, and gloves (we will also be providing nitrite gloves). Sign up for this event at HandsOnBroward.org.
