BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Light pollution makes stargazing challenging - so challenging, especially in urbanized areas, that there's an uptick in "astrotourism." While you save up to visit one of the national parks that have become favored dark-sky sites, check out activities closer to home. The fourth and final quarterly installment of this year's An Evening With the Stars astronomy series is this month, at its longtime home, Fern Forest Nature Center (201 Lyons Rd. South, Coconut Creek 33063; 954-357-5198). The free program is from 7:30 to 9PM on Friday, December 15th. For more information, call 954-357-5198. Co-sponsored by the South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association.

Recreation. Preservation. Education.
