BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be performing maintenance and improvements to the bridges over the West Outfall Canal on Coral Springs Drive immediately south of Ramblewood Drive in Coral Springs. The project will start January 10, 2017 and be completed on or before March 24, 2017, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
The project includes installing a new concrete barrier wall, asphalt paving of the bridge, installation of bridge joints, guardrail upgrades, and installation of aluminum handrails on the bridge improving overall pedestrian access. Construction activities include concrete demolition, concrete barrier wall installation, sidewalk repairs, guardrail upgrades, paving of all traffic lanes, re-striping and associated maintenance of traffic.
Traffic impacts:
- Some lane closures will be required on Northbound and Southbound Coral Springs Drive between 9AM and 4PM
- Two lanes will remain open at all times
- Northbound or Southbound sidewalks will be available to pedestrians at all times; pedestrians should follow posted detours
