- Broward County is honoring Broward County pioneers at its 42nd Annual Pioneer Day Celebration on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Refreshments will be served beginning at 1PM followed by the recognition program at 2PM. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners and the Broward County Libraries Division will join the City of Hallandale Beach in co-sponsoring this event.

The celebration is one of the sanctioned events for Broward 100, the County’s yearlong centennial festivities, and will be held at the Hallandale Beach Cultural Community Center, located at 410 SE 3rd Street in Hallandale Beach. The public is welcome at this free event.

Pioneer Day is an opportunity for individuals to be recognized for contributions they have made to their communities.  This 42nd annual celebration will recognize 32 men and women who have been selected as Broward County Pioneers. They will join a distinguished group of over 2,000 other Pioneers that have been honored since the beginning of the program in 1972. The following is the list of those individuals who will be recognized and the historical groups or municipalities who had nominated them for this honor.
