Surrounded by family, friends and a multitude of supporters, Broward County Commissioner Mark D. Bogen was officially sworn into office today to represent district 2 residents.

“I am so honored to be here representing district two on the County Commission and I am so grateful to everyone who has helped me make this a reality,” said Commissioner Bogen. “There is a saying that an idea is only as good as its execution and the idea and the desire to run for county commission really became a reality because of the execution of so many people.”

“I am incredibly proud of being here, of what you've accomplished, of making it to this point in time, this milestone of being sworn in as County Commissioner.  Your family, your friends who have been rooting for you, cheering you on, worked for you, we are thrilled to share this moment with you.  You earned it,” said Stephen Bogen, the Commissioner’s brother who administered the Oath of Office.

Mr. Bogen has been practicing law for more than 30 years and is licensed to practice in Florida and Illinois.

As the managing partner of the Bogen Law Group, Mark has focused his law practice on the representation of condominium and homeowner associations.  The Bogen Law Group has represented hundreds of associations ranging from small to some of the largest associations in the State of Florida.

For the past twenty years, Mr. Bogen wrote two weekly columns for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper, which are now written by his son Michael.  Bogen also appeared on NBC as a guest addressing legal questions and hosted a weekly radio show in South Florida.  He is a frequent guest speaker at association board and unit owner meetings informing them on the new laws and answering legal questions.

Bogen was a former Special Assistant to the State Attorney’s office, an adjunct professor of business law at Florida Atlantic University, and authored a book “What Every Condo Owner Should Know.”

Broward County’s District 2 Commissioner represents Coconut Creek, Margate and portions of Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach and Coral Springs.
