BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22nd, at Broward County Parks with special activities at Anne Kolb Nature Center, Fern Forest Nature Center, and Markham Park and Target Range. Also, for the first time for Earth Day, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners approved that all regional parks that charge a gate entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone.
Here are the following events offered on Earth Day:
• Earth Day Mangrove Adventure Hike at Anne Kolb Nature Center (751 Sheridan St, Hollywood; 954-357-5161) from 10:30 to 11:30AM. Join us for a hike down the Lake Observation Trail to observe and discuss nature.
• At Fern Forest Nature Center (201 Lyons Rd South, Coconut Creek; 954-357-5198) from 10AM to 2:30PM, there will be naturalist-led nature walks, native seed planting, and a talk about carnivorous plants by Trent Meeks of Sunbelle Exotics Inc.
• Markham Park and Target Range (16001 W State Rd 84, Sunrise; 954-357-8868) will host an Earth Day Park Cleanup from 9AM to 1PM. All ages are welcome to volunteer and ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Register at HandsonBroward.org at least a day before the event.
