2016 Property Tax Bills Have Been Mailed

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Records, Taxes & Treasury Division has mailed more than 500,000 property tax bills for 2016. For property taxpayers whose bills are paid by escrow arrangement, a courtesy tax bill copy will be mailed in mid-November. Property taxes must be paid no later than March 31, 2017 to avoid penalties and delinquency fees, but may be paid as early as November 1, 2016 to take advantage of discounts. A four percent discount applies to taxes paid in November; a three percent discount applies in December; a two percent discount in January; and a one percent discount in February.  

All 2016 tax bills will also be available at broward.county-taxes.com on Nov. 1
st for viewing, printing, or online payment. Property taxpayers whose bill will not be paid by an escrow or tax-paying agent may pay tax bills in a variety of ways:

Online Credit/Debit Card, or eCheck payments:
Visit broward.county-taxes.com. Use the search function to locate your tax account, and follow instructions for payment by credit/debit card, or eCheck. There is a non-refundable 2.55% convenience fee for credit/debit card payments. eCheck payments have no additional fee.
 

Bank Online Bill Pay Service:
Request a payment to the "Broward County Tax Collector" directly from your bank's online Bill Pay service. There is no additional fee for this service, but only full payment of your tax bill can be made. No partial payments using an online Bill Pay Service will be processed.

Mail:
Use
the envelope enclosed with your tax bill or mail payment to Broward County Tax Collector, Processing Center P.O. Box 849375, Hollywood, FL 33084-9375. This box will be in service until March 31, 2017. Be sure to include the tax coupon with your check paid in US funds from a US bank, or there may be a delay in processing. Postmark date will be used to determine the applicable early-payment discount. Should the check not clear for any reason, the tax payment will be canceled and a return check fee will be charged.

In Person:
At Broward County Records, Taxes & Treasury Division, Tax & License Section, Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Room A-100, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, except County holidays. All forms of payment are accepted.

At a Wells Fargo Bank Branch:
Current tax bills may be paid in full (no partial payments), by check or money order paid in US funds by a US bank, at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch in Broward County, until March 31, 2017. Your 2016 tax coupon must accompany payment. No credit, debit, or cash payments are accepted.

Partial Payments:
Current taxes may be paid in up to five partial payments. Partial payments must be for a minimum of $100 and include a $10 processing fee. Partial payments forfeit all tax discounts that would otherwise apply to early payments.
The final payment must be payment in full and paid by March 31, 2017, or the balance due will be subject to penalties and interest.

RTT serves as the County's tax collector, provides treasury services, and is the statutory repository for the Official Records of the County. The Division, part of the Finance and Administrative Services Department, collects residential and commercial property taxes, local business taxes, tourist development taxes, and other taxes on behalf of various authorities.
