BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County continues its commitment to the use of renewable energy and sustainable practices with the recent installation of an electric vehicle charging station for use by employees of the Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. The charging station is conveniently located on the second floor of the Governmental Center Parking Garage.

This new depot follows the installation of a charging station in the Governmental Center West parking garage in December 2014, and highlights the County's effort to be successful in the U.S. Department of Energy's Workplace Charging Challenge, which calls on employers to make a bold commitment to provide electric vehicle charging access to their workforce. In 2014, the County was recognized by the Department of Energy for leadership in promoting the expansion of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) infrastructure through the Comprehensive Plan implementation strategy and for its participation in the Workplace Charging Challenge.
