Festival from 1:00 to 5PM on Saturday,
April 30th at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center
(AARLCC), 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311, 954-357-6282.
AARLCC's Art of Community Festival invites the community and the entire family
to participate and explore the importance of art as a tool to engage and impact our local community and our world.
Join us for the
first ever Art of Community Festival! This festival is the culmination of
AARLCC's inaugural artists residency
which funded 5 emerging local artists. On April 30th we will
showcase the creations from the artists whose artwork addresses critical social
justice issues impacting our community such as Economic Justice,
Environmental Justice, Criminal and Health Care Reform, Racial Justice, and
Gender and Sexuality Equity.

Attendees will meet the artists in residence along with other special
invited local activist artists showcasing their art employing diverse
mediums such as performance art and interactive
