BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Construction will begin on Monday, April 18, 2022 for the installation of a pedestrian crossing and sidewalk improvements along Flamingo Road just north of westbound State Road 84. This Mobility Advance Program (MAP) project, managed by the Highway Construction and Engineering Division, is expected to be completed in September 2022, barring any unforeseen weather delays.
Project Overview:
Flamingo Road and New River Greenway Crossway improvements include:
- Installation of a new pedestrian mast arm crossing
- Milling and resurfacing north and southbound Flamingo Road
- Installation of a new sidewalk along north and southbound Flamingo Road, including curb, gutter and guardrail
- Installation of new signing and pavement markings
Traffic:
During construction, contractor personnel and inspection staff will work closely with residents and businesses in the work zone to minimize impacts caused by the project.
