Sidewalk Improvements in Fort Lauderdale Neighborhood

- Project zone is NE 56 Street from NE 18 to NE 22 Avenues -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway Construction and Engineering Division will begin sidewalk improvements at NE 56th Street from NE 18th Avenue to NE 22nd Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Improvements will include construction of new sidewalks on both sides of the road, milling and resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement, drainage improvements and upgrading the signage and pavement markings. Work will begin on May 9, 2022 and is expected to be completed by Spring 2023, barring any unforeseen delays.

Temporary lane closures will be necessary in this residential area. Project management staff is working with homeowner association management to limit the impact to driveway access in the area. Message signs will advise the public of the project.

These improvements are funded by the Mobility Advancement (MAP) Program. Highway Construction and Engineering Project Manager James Jeffers can be reached at 954-577-4573 or jjeffers@broward.org.

Broward County appreciates your patience as we complete the upgrade.
