Broward Mayor Delivers White Coat Address to New NSU Medical Students

BROWARD COUNTY, FL- Broward Mayor Michael Udine will be delivering the 2022 White Coat Address to incoming medical students at Nova Southeastern University.

The traditional White Coat Ceremony takes place Saturday, August 27, 2022 beginning at 10AM at the NSU Fort Lauderdale Campus, at the Rick Case Arena at the Don Taft University Center, 3200 University Drive in Fort Lauderdale.

The televised 2022 White Coat Address recognizes the incoming class that will eventually graduate in 2026 from NSU's College of Allopathic Medicine.

The ceremony welcomes those embarking on their medical careers to the community of physicians by providing them with their white coat as a symbol of compassion and honor. This ceremony signifies the beginning of medical students' journeys to achieve the white coat when they become practicing physicians. It also symbolizes professionalism, caring, and trust, which they must earn from patients. This televised event will host new MD medical students and their families.

"This is a very exciting and special event for new medical students as they put on their white coats for the very first time, symbolizing the launch of the career that they have chosen.  I am honored to be the keynote speaker and look forward to celebrating with the students and their families. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!" said Mayor Udine.

An estimated 300 people will be in attendance including students, family, friends, faculty, staff and NSU executives.
