BROWARD COUNTY, FL - In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage
Month (September 15-October 15) and ongoing support of the local business community, the Office of
Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) will host two business development
virtual workshops in Spanish. OESBD Assistant Director Maribel Feliciano will present
"Haciendo Negocios con el Condado de Broward (Doing Business with Broward
County)" on Monday, September 18 from 2-3PM and "Obtenga la Certificación (Get
Certified)" on Wednesday, October 11 from 10-11AM. Pre-registration is open and encouraged.
"Haciendo Negocios con el Condado de Broward" and "Obtenga
la Certificación" will be conducted virtually for the fourth and third
consecutive years, respectively, to raise awareness of OESBD programs and
services. They will also provide insight into Broward's combined online
application for small business certification in the County's two local programs
- County Business Enterprise (CBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE).
Both webinars will address the needs of local business
owners and entrepreneurs interested in exploring government contracting
opportunities, providing basic information to maximize available opportunities
with the County.
"Our programs are designed to assist those interested in
working with Broward County by guiding them through the certification process
and providing essential insight. By expanding our workshops in Spanish and other languages, this supports the entire business community," said OESBD Director Sandy-Michael
E. McDonald. "Multilingual efforts are vital to reach as many of the 85,000 and
counting business-owners and entrepreneurs across Broward County," added
McDonald.
"Our ability to inclusively service our business community
in various languages has been requested by our local small businesses and
greatly appreciated. We are already working on expanding outreach efforts in other languages," said Feliciano.
