Port Everglades Bypass Road Groundbreaking

BROWARD COUNTY, FL- Groundbreaking for the Port Everglades Bypass Road will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 10AM at the Broward County Convention Center Marshalling Yard in Fort Lauderdale.

The $55-million infrastructure project involves the construction of a bypass road. This road will serve several important purposes:

  • It will create a direct connection to the Broward County Convention Center.
  • It will separate general use traffic from the traffic going to Port Everglades.
  • It will help reduce congestion on US-1 and SE 17th Street.
  • The Port Everglades Bypass Road will have one lane in each direction and will include a 1300 ft elevated bypass road section exclusively for motor vehicles.

WHO: Broward County Vice Mayor Beam Furr,  Broward Commissioner Lamar P. Fisher, County Administrator Monica Cepero, VisitLauderdale President/CEO Stacy Ritter, FDOT District Secretary Steven C. Braun, Broward County Public Works Director Trevor Fisher.

Address: 1538-1626 SE 20th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 

Enter U.S.1 to S.R. 84, show photo ID at the security checkpoint. Drive 0.5 miles, then make an immediate left before Eisenhower Blvd. stoplight. Follow the access road north to the event entrance location.
