HURRICANE MATTHEW ADVISORY #3
UPDATE: ALL OF BROWARD COUNTY IS NOW UNDER A HURRICANCE WATCH
BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County is currently under a Tropical Storm Watch, with areas north of Deerfield Beach under a Hurricane Watch. A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm wind conditions are possible within the next 48 hours. A Hurricane Watch means there is a threat of hurricane conditions within 48 hours. All residents are urged to take this time to prepare and to stay informed.
Broward County Port Everglades cruise passengers and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport airline passengers are urged to contact their airlines and cruise lines to determine if there are cancellations.
Closing Updates:
The potential impacts of Hurricane Matthew along South Florida's east coast have led to the following closings and cancellations:
- Broward County Marine Advisory Committee on Thursday, October 6, has been canceled
- Broward County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting on Friday, October 7, has been canceled.
- The 8th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit scheduled for October 5-6, at the Palm Beach Convention Center in West Palm Beach, has been canceled. Communication regarding refunds or rescheduling will be sent within the next two weeks.
- The Tourist Development Council (TDC) meeting scheduled for 10AM, on Thursday, October 6, at the Convention Center is canceled. A new meeting date/time will be determined.
- CVB's Marketing Plan Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, October 6, at the Convention Center has been canceled. A new date and time will be determined.
- The Group and Meetings Workshop originally scheduled to take place after the Marketing Plan luncheon will take place on Friday, October 7, at 3PM, at the Convention Center.
- TriRail Coastal Link Community Stakeholder Forum on Thursday, October 6, has been canceled.
