BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be performing roadway and safety improvements at the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and Flamingo Road in Sunrise, beginning on Monday, January 23, 2017, and concluding on or before May 5, 2017, barring unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
The purpose of this project is to adjust the cross-slope of Oakland Park Boulevard and Flamingo Road, from NW 32nd Place to NW 120th Way, to improve safety. Construction activities include installing new curb and gutter, correcting the roadway slope, and restoring impacted pavement.
Project impacts:
- Oakland Park Boulevard and Flamingo Road will be temporarily narrowed to one or two lanes in each direction, within the project limits
- Access to sidewalks and driveways will be maintained
- Construction will occur during the day to lessen impacts to nearby residential areas
- Variable message signs will be posted in advance of the start of the construction, and during construction, to warn affected motorists and pedestrians
