BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Transit (BCT) and the City of West Park have partnered to bring residents and commuters free Community Bus Service, beginning Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

This free service will provide trips from 10AM to 3:12PM, Tuesdays through Saturdays. It will  not operate on Sundays and Mondays. Service frequency will be every 62 minutes at assigned bus stops that will connect with BCT fixed-bus routes 5, 15, 18, 28, 441 Breeze, Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) Route 99, the Hallandale Beach Community Bus Service Route 3, and the Miramar Yellow Community Bus.

The West Park Community Bus is a 25-foot mini-bus that can seat between 16 to 20 passengers, has positions for two wheelchairs, and rack space for two bicycles. Destinations   include West Park City Hall; Broward Family Health Center; the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in the County Square Plaza on County Line Road; McTyre Park; the Boys and Girls Club; Carver Ranches Library; South Region Family Success Center (Carver Ranches); stops along Pembroke Road; Saunders Park; and Winn Dixie stores on County Line Road and Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

The BCT Community Bus Service operates in partnership with 19 Broward municipalities, including West Park. Community buses service residential areas freeing larger fixed-route buses to travel along major thoroughfares as part of a regional bus network. Based on local demand, it also brings the service closer to the people who use or may wish to use this community bus.

To plan your trip using BCT, call 954-357-8400 or TTY 954-357-8302 seven days a week, or visit www.Broward.org/BCT. And be sure to follow us on Facebook and YouTube. For details about the West Park Community Bus Service, call 954-989-2688 or visit the City Of West Park.
