BROWARD COUNTY, FL Broward Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program, in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Division is seeking to commission one artist or artist team to design, fabricate and install site-specific artwork at Tradewinds Park Stables & Farm located in Coconut Creek, FL. The function of the artwork will be to increase the Park’s visibility from either West Sample Road or the Florida Turnpike. It is envisioned that the artwork will become a landmark and welcome visitors to one of Broward County’s largest and most diverse parks. The application deadline for this Call to Artists is September 28th.
 

This Call to Artists is open to all professional artists, twenty-one or older; residing in the United States who have completed a minimum of five (5) public art projects with a budget of $25,000 or more and have demonstrated experience completing and coordinating exterior art installations with construction project managers, and related contractors, engineers and architects. Interested artists should apply only if they are able to complete the project in accordance with the schedule. 

Tradewinds Park Stables & Farm is one of Broward County's largest and most diverse parks.
The 626.5 acre park is located in north central Broward County and contains many recreational and educational facilities. The Park is intersected by Sample Road; a major east-west traffic corridor. On the south side of Sample Road, there is a disc golf course, a lake for fishing, athletic fields, and the world-famous Butterfly World. On the north side of Sample Road, the Park offers horse stables, an educational farm facility, and model steam train rides. Both sections of the Park include playgrounds and picnic areas, as well as shelters of various sizes available to rent.

The Park will be undergoing some major site renovations and the selected artist or artist team will be required to collaborate with the design team, the contractor and Park project managers during design and installation phases of the project. Overall site plan design will impact the artwork location within the site.
