BROWARD COUNTY, FL –  South Florida film-goers are in for a treat this month. A rare opportunity to see the 2013 international documentary, Inside Out: The People's Art Project, will screen on Wednesday, November 12 and Thursday, November 13, at the 29th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF.)

This 70-minute feature length documentary follows French artist JR around the world as he encourages communities to stand up and deliver powerful messages through his Inside Out Project.

Started in 2007, Inside Out has become the largest global participatory public art platform with the power to push limits, showing art in unexpected public places. Consisting of a series of black-and-white photographic portraits that are printed out on large-scale posters and later pasted in unique ways has impacted communities for the better.

Locally, Inside Out Projects have cropped up at Broward College's downtown campus in an effort to showcase the voice of innovative education and civic engagement in the 21st century. Fort Lauderdale High School has one in the works. And early next year, the City of Pembroke Pines will install a series of black-and-white portraits of prominent LGBT community members exploring pride and equality.

"Can art change the world? Maybe we should change the question: Can art change people's lives?" - JR

Inside Out: The People's Art Project will screen 6PM Wednesday, November 12 and 5:30PM Thursday, November 13. A reception will follow the film.
