BROWARD COUNTY, FL -
County residents who live in the Broward Municipal Services District (formerly called Unincorporated Broward) can now save money when they recycle. Waste Pro USA, the trash and recycling hauler for the District, has launched "Waste Pro Rewards," an incentive program that offers residents who recycle the opportunity to save money on hundreds of products and services.

District residents can activate their account online here. Waste Pro uses an electronic reader to scan carts as curbside recycling is collected. Participating residents can use their account to browse and print out savings coupons. Once their account is activated, members can also get the mobile app (Rewards for Recycling, or R4R), and take their discounts with them wherever they go.

Businesses in the Broward Municipal Services District are encouraged to participate in the program by featuring their own discounts on the site, for free. It's a great way to gain exposure while supporting this community-wide green effort. Businesses should call 1-888-234-8211 for details.

The Broward Municipal Services District joins nearly 100,000 households in Florida that already participate in the Waste Pro Rewards program, including those in Lauderhill and Coral Springs.

Recycling incentive programs have a proven track record of increasing participation. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, conserves natural resources, prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials, saves energy, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change.*
