Broward County, FL - Earlier this month, Broward County Transit (BCT) celebrated the relocation of its new 595 Express Park-and-Ride facility located at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. The new Park-and-Ride is located on the north wing of the BB&T Center and includes 400 parking spaces with brightly-colored covered bus shelters and benches for customers to comfortably wait for one of three 595 Express bus routes that serve the stop.

"It was the perfect time to build this new facility," said Tim Garling, BCT Deputy Director of Broward County Transportation. "Ridership on these 595 Express routes have grown tremendously over the years. This new Park-and-Ride is conveniently located with ample parking, short walking distance to and from the bus stop, and covered shelters that provide seating and protection from the South Florida weather."

The facility serves all three of the 595 Express routes that travel via the interstate to downtown Miami or downtown Fort Lauderdale on weekday mornings and afternoons. Those routes include Sunrise to Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise to Miami Civic Center, and Sunrise to Miami/Brickell. The original BCT bus stop at the BB&T was always meant to be temporary while the permanent site was under construction. Customers can enter the facility through Gate 7 on Northwest 136 Avenue, and proceed to the new red bus shelter area.
