BROWARD COUNTY, FL - There will be an increase in flight activity associated with the South Runway beginning April 13th. The North Runway will undergo maintenance, evaluation and required inspection by the Florida Department of Transportation.
Below is the April schedule of the North Runway closures and use of the South Runway for all flights:
Monday, April 13th
North Runway closes from 7:30AM through 10:30AM
Tuesday, April 14th
North Runway closes from 12:01AM through 10:30AM
Wednesday, April 15th - Friday, April 17th
North Runway closes from 12:01AM through 5AM
Monday, April 20th - Friday, April 24th
North Runway closes from 12:01AM through 5AM
Monday, April 27th - Friday, May 1st
North Runway closes from 12:01AM through 5AM
Monday, May 11th - Friday, May 15th
North Runway closes from 12:01AM through 5AM
Additional closures may occur after May 15th, which will also require all aircraft to use the South Runway.
There will be periodic deviations from these schedules to allow long distance flights to the west coast and Europe to utilize the 9,000 foot North Runway. These flights carry more fuel and need a longer runway for takeoff.
