BROWARD COUNTY, FL - It's raining cats and dogs at Broward County Animal Care. It is the time of year when the shelter sees an increase in the number of dogs, and especially cats, entering the shelter and community support is needed to find them a forever home.

Beginning Thursday, June 4th, through Sunday, June 14th, the Animal Care and Adoption Center will host, "Name Your Price" dog adoptions. In addition, adoption fees for cats and kittens will be completely waived through the entire month on June.

"We are currently faced with a high influx of pets who are in need of a home," said Lisa Mendheim, public education coordinator, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption.  "Through no fault of their own, adoptable dogs and cats enter our doors, hoping for a second chance to find the loving home they desperately want and deserve.

"We need the community's help to save lives, whether it is by adopting or rescuing a shelter pet. If now is not the best time to welcome a permanent four-legged family member, please consider lending a helping hand to foster a shelter animal."
