BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Beginning July 15th, Broward County Animal Care will begin to phase out its SPOT spay/neuter program in preparation for a new sterilization program for residents' pets.

Applicants who apply to the current SPOT program and receive vouchers will be required to redeem those vouchers as quickly as possible with participating veterinarians.  Typically, applicants have 90 days to utilize a voucher.  However, since the current SPOT Program sunsets in September, appointments with participating veterinary clinics for spay/neuter services must be made within 60 days.  This will allow enough time for veterinary clinics to send in their reconciliation reports to Animal Care so that they can be reimbursed for the surgery under current SPOT Program funding.
