BROWARD COUNTY, FL - Broward County Libraries will present five events in October in support of Domestic Violence Awareness and Bullying Awareness Month. All events are free and open to the public.

The first Domestic Violence Awareness Month was observed in October 1987. In 1989, the U.S. Congress passed Public Law 101-112 designating October of that year as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Bullying Prevention Month started as an awareness week initiated in October 2006 and since then the event has evolved into a month's worth of events and activities to raise awareness and provide the latest resources to those who need it.
