WHAT: BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The weekend of October 3rd and 4th, from 9AM to 3PM, Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach will host its first Barktoberfest. The event will feature a Doggie Fun Zone, rescue and nonprofit groups, Sups & Pups, adoptions, a Doggie Market Place, bounce houses for kids, face painting, a costume contest, and more.

 

Running more or less simultaneously, from 8AM to 2:50PM, the park will also hold its annual K9 Splash Adventure event, the one time when dogs are allowed to frolic in the Splash Adventure water playground. The event is divided into 50-minute sessions, with the first session of the day devoted to small dogs. Some rules apply:

·         All dogs must be off leash when inside the playground.

·         Dogs must be sociable and well behaved.

·         Dogs must have proof of current rabies vaccination and a County license tag.

·         Water playground will be closed to humans and open only to dogs (and, of course,   lifeguards).

·         All dogs are limited to two sessions per day.

·         Sessions begin on the hour.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, October 3rd and 4th, 8AM-2:50PM (K9 Splash Adventure), 9AM-3PM (Barktoberfest)

 

WHO: For dogs and owners of all ages. 

 

HOW: Admission to Barktoberfest is free, although the park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect. The K9 Splash Adventure event costs $5/dog per 50-minute session.
