BROWARD COUNTY, FL - An event a century in the making is here! It's Broward County's 100th birthday, Oct. 2nd - 4th, and organizers are proud to announce that the stars for the weekend are local visual and performance artists. Home-grown talent and never-before-blended performances, cross-cultural pairings in unique Broward County style. You might encounter Samba serenading Hip Hop, country notes carried along with percussion steel drums, opera and Japanese Taiko drumming rising in motion towards Duende -that moment in time when things rise in synergy. With more than a year of planning, Broward's local talent has emerged as the stars!

"We didn't want this to be just a big show. We wanted it to be a big show with Broward talent," says Broward Cultural Division Director Earl Bosworth. "Once we started auditioning and enlisting our very own artists, we were blown away by what we saw and heard. We are supporting them and we have set the stage." This the story of
Duende.
