Broward County's North Perry Airport to Host "Wings & Wheels" Event

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - On Saturday, November 7, Broward County's North Perry Airport (HWO) is having an open house. The entire family can enjoy activities from 10AM to 2PM. Whether you drive or fly in, admission and parking are free. We will showcase our general aviation airport for the community to help the public better understand HWO and its economic impact to the area.

Activities include:

• More than 50 aircraft on display.
• Classic Car Show with more than 100 vehicles.
• Activities for children including a bounce house, obstacle course, face painting, and train rides.
• Over 30 aviation vendors including flight schools, fixed-base operators, clubs, and the Transportation Security Administration.
• Discovery Flights offered at $25 for a 15-minute ride.
• Helicopter rides for $45.
• Food vendors with some of the area's most popular food trucks.
• Live entertainment including popular performers from the Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Terminal Tunes Program.
• The Bloodmobile.

HWO is located at 101 S.W. 77th Way in Pembroke Pines. Please use the north entrance off Pines Boulevard, which is just east of University Drive.

HWO is a general aviation airport covering 511 acres. It is home to more than 368 aircraft and has 190,000 annual operations. Seven flight training schools operate from HWO and its four runways. There are 164 T-Hangars for public aircraft storage.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and North Perry Airport are services of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
