BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be performing a drainage repair along NW 7th Avenue between NW 4th Street (Pratt Avenue) and NW 6th Street (Sistrunk Boulevard), in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 22, 2016, with completion expected on or before March 31, 2016, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
The purpose of this project is to install two new maintenance access structures to connect the main drainage line to lateral drains. Construction activities include: excavating, installing drainage structures and lateral pipes, restoring the pavement, and repairing damaged sidewalks.
During construction, southbound traffic will be temporarily narrowed to one lane and shifted to the shared left lane. Northbound through traffic will not be affected, however several left turns within the project limits will be temporarily restricted. In addition, access to some driveways and sidewalks will be affected and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to use the sidewalk across from the work zone.
Variable message signs will be used to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
