BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will be resurfacing the bridge over the C-2 Canal on West Broward Boulevard immediately west of Pine Island Road in Plantation. To minimize impact to traffic, this work will take place on the weekend of May 21st. Barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays, the project will start early Saturday morning and will be completed prior to rush hour on Monday May 23rd.
The purpose of this project is to resurface the bridge deck in advance of additional bridge maintenance. Construction activities include milling & paving all traffic lanes, and re-striping.
During construction eastbound and westbound West Broward Boulevard drivers can anticipate lane closures as required to complete the work. Two lanes will be closed in each direction from 7 AM to 8 PM, leaving one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times. Access to sidewalks will not be impacted and flaggers will be onsite to control pedestrian traffic through the work zone.
