BROWARD COUNTY, FL - The County is hosting an inaugural chalk art festival featuring 2D and 3D chalk artist murals on Saturday, January 13th presented by Broward County Main Library and Cultural Division.

Artists 18 and older may apply online to be considered for one of the available spaces. The application is free. Deadline for entries is Sunday, Oct. 29th. 

As part of the
National Endowment for the Arts' Big Read community book program, the festival will be literary-themed and will take place on the north plaza of the Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

T
his free, family-friendly day includes live music, food trucks, murals created on-site by more than 20 street artists, 3D printing stations, face painting, museum-curated workshops, hands-on crafting with Blick Art Materials, an area for kids to create their own chalk masterpieces and a People's Choice Award presented by Jerry's Artarama.
