BROWARD COUNTY, FL
- The holiday season traditionally begins with cooler temperatures, gifts, acts of kindness and, of course, holiday travel. Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) expects record numbers of passengers this holiday season. Approximately 1.7 million travelers will pass through FLL during the sixteen-day holiday period from Monday, December 18, 2017, through Tuesday, January 2, 2018. The Aviation Department forecasts a six percent increase in passengers compared to the same period last year. Airport officials anticipate more than 100,000 passengers each of the busiest travel days, Saturday, December 23 and 30.

"Thank you to the more than 30 million guests who traveled through Broward County's FLL this year. May 2018 bring you and your families health, happiness and prosperity," said Mark E. Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation. "We look forward to providing great new service, facilities and food/shopping options in the coming year."

PARKING:
Before arriving at the airport, please consider downloading the free FLL Airport App which offers details about parking, flights, and restaurant options. Take advantage of the smart parking technology to locate the nearest available parking space. In the garage driving lanes, look at the monitors mounted to the ceiling for the number of open spaces in each aisle. Then look down the aisle for the green light indicating an available parking space. Although we have more than 13,000 available parking spots, we expect to fill up quickly. Please allow extra time if you plan to park at FLL.

SunPass Plus is available in all of the Airport's parking garages. Travelers can use SunPass Plus as a convenient way to pay for parking using a SunPass transponder. The traveler must use a SunPass Plus lane to enter and exit for the account to be charged. With SunPass Plus entry, no ticket is required.

FLL has a variety of parking options. Travelers may choose from Hourly Parking in the garages ($36/day), Curbside Valet ($25/day), or Daily Parking in the garages ($15/day). Travelers should allow extra time for parking during this holiday period.

Overflow Parking has more than 3,000 spaces and will open after the garages are full. It is located west of the Airport at 1661 SW 40th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315. Take Griffin Road just west of I-95 to 30th Avenue, turn right. Then turn right on SW 42nd Street and follow the orange signs. Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes to bring passengers to and from the terminals. The drop-off and pick-up locations are between Terminals 1 and 2 and Terminals 3 and 4 on the upper level (departure) roadway.

Curbside Valet Parking is available at Terminals 1, 2, and 4 on the upper level (departure). For more information, you may contact them at 954-359-8108. Please make your reservations for Curbside Valet early. After Monday, November 20th, online reservations will close until after the holiday period. Auto detailing is available through curbside valet. Contact SP+ Parking for details on those services at 954-359-0200.

PICKUP/DROP OFF:
The Cell Phone Waiting Area is located under the main entrance roadway to the airport. As you enter the airport on the main entrance roadway, stay in the left lanes, follow the sign to All Parking, and bear left. Then follow the signs to the Cell Phone Waiting Area. This road will bring you to the Rental Car Center to the Cell Phone Waiting Area. If the free Cell Phone Waiting Area is full, please proceed to our Hourly Parking of the garage. Short-term parking is available for $3 per hour.

Please remember that the curbside areas are for immediate pick up and drop off only. Unattended vehicles will be ticketed and towed. During peak evening hours, consider meeting your passengers on the upper level. The lower level roadway is frequently congested during evening hours.

REMINDERS:
TSA has implemented new screening procedures this year. Please remove all electronics larger than a cell phone (such as laptops, tablets, e-readers and handheld game consoles) from carry-on bags and placed in a separate bin at the screening checkpoint. If you TSA Pre-Check traveler, this new procedure may not apply.

FLL offers the TSA Pre-Check Program at our security checkpoints. Please visit their website to learn more about the program and how it works.

If you are a Traveler With a Disability or have a medical condition, you can plan with TSA Cares or call their toll free helpline at 1-855-787-2227 to enhance your airport experience.

Travelers can tune into the Airport Radio Station, 1670 AM, for current information on available parking. The station can be received approximately two miles from the airport.
