Attend a Cultural Grant Program Application Workshop September 26th

BROWARD COUNTY - The Cultural Division announces a new grant opportunity through the Tourist Tax Development Tax Capital Grant Program, now offering a second application cycle. 

There will be an application workshop on Wednesday, September 26th at 2 and 6 PM at the Broward County Main Library, 6th Floor, Bienes Center Conference Room, 100 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. 

 Project funds may be used to acquire, construct, extend, enlarge, remodel, repair, improve, maintain, operate or promote certain facilities as authorized by the Local Option Tourist Development Act (as authorized in Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes), including convention centers, sports stadiums, sports arenas, coliseums, auditoriums, aquariums or museums that are publicly owned and operated or owned and operated by non-profit organizations and open to members of the public, within the boundaries of Broward County. Leased facilities must also be located within the boundaries of Broward County.

 Projects previously funded through this grant include:  in conjunction with Broward County, The City of Pompano Beach designed the new 21,980 sq. ft. Pompano Beach Cultural Center for theater, music, dance, film and digital arts media. 

 The application deadline is October 30, 2018 at 11:59 PM for fiscal year 2019 funding.

 There is no fee for the workshop and RSVPs are encouraged online, in advance at tdtcc-ii.eventbrite.com.
