New Venue for Music Program for Youth With Developmental Disabilities

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Teens and young adults between the ages of 13 and 21 with developmental disabilities are invited to express themselves through music through Musical Expressions, a program offered through the Parks and Recreation Division’s Special Populations Section. The program will be offered on Wednesdays, from 6:15 to 7:15PM, starting on May 8th and ending on June 26th, at T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park (3300 N Park Rd., Hollywood 33021; 954-357-8811).

Program participants will focus on using vocals, learning rhythmic patterns with different percussion instruments, gaining confidence, cooperating with peers, and having fun. Consistent attendance is required, as each week participants will learn new techniques that will build on skills learned in the prior week’s class.
