The Hunt Is On!

- Scavengers to scour Everglades Holiday Park -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Combine a hike and a scavenger hunt along the levees and natural areas of Everglades Holiday Park, and you’ll get some good exercise and learn a lot about the flora and fauna of this unique ecosystem. An Everglades Holiday Park Scavenger Hunt will take place from 11AM to noon on Saturday, August 17.

There really is only one Everglades on the planet, a “River of Grass” that’s home to life forms found nowhere else. Get to know some of them a little better as you search for them in this westernmost park in Broward County. The naturalist-led program is for all ages and costs $5 per person. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes, and it’s strongly recommended that they also bring drinking water, insect repellent, and sunscreen. Preregistration is required by calling the office at Markham Park at 954-357-8868, ext. 0, or the Parks Naturalist at 954-357-8674, or by signing up online.
