County Announces Extended Hours for Residential Waste Dropoff and LandfillHURRICANE DORIAN

UPDATE #3

BROWARD COUNTY, FL - In preparation of Hurricane Dorian’s potential landfall, the three Broward County Residential Drop-off Centers for bulk, household hazardous waste and electronics will be opened on every day of the week (including weekends and holidays) from 7:00AM– 7:00PM, until further notice. Locations include: North Residential Drop-off Center at 2780 N Powerline Rd, Pompano Beach, FL; Central Residential Drop-off Center at 5490 Reese Rd, Davie, FL; and South Residential Drop-off Center at 5601 W Hallandale Beach Blvd, West Park, FL.

For the disposal of BULK and YARD WASTE, the Centers are only open to residents from the following participating municipalities: Broward Municipal Services District, Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Margate, Oakland Park, Parkland, Pembroke Park, Weston, and West Park.

Residents of participating cities may dispose of their yard waste, (such as tree trimmings, palm fronds, and tree trunks), bulk waste (such as furniture and appliances), household hazardous waste (such as used motor oil, paints, pesticides, pool chemicals), gasoline and electronics (such as computers, monitors, televisions). Residents will need to provide proof of residency such as a valid driver’s license or tax bill.

For the disposal of household hazardous waste and electronics, the Centers are only open to residents from the following participating municipalities: Broward Municipal Services District, Dania Beach, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Lazy Lake, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Oakland Park, Parkland, Pembroke Park, Sea Ranch Lakes, West Park and Weston.

In addition, effective Thursday, August 29, 2019, the Broward County Landfill located at 7101 SW 205th Avenue (US 27 and Sheridan Street) will be open every day of the week (including weekends and holidays) from 7:00AM – 7:00PM, until further notice.

Customers may dispose of bulk trash, construction and demolition material, yard waste, tires (rims less than 25 inches in diameter), and white goods (such as refrigerators and washing machine).  Unacceptable waste includes household garbage/food waste, hazardous waste (such as used oil, pesticides, pool chemicals) and gasoline.  Customers will need to provide a valid driver’s license for use.
