Protect Your Pet with a County Tag and Microchip

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Hurricane Dorian may have left our area, but we are still in the height of Hurricane Season. Part of good hurricane planning is to have your pet vaccinated and identified in case he becomes lost during a storm.

To help pet owners protect their pets, Broward County residents will be able to choose from two Rabies Clinics in September. Both Clinics will offer a rabies vaccination and Broward County pet license for dogs and cats:

  • Saturday, September 14, at the Miramar Branch Library, 2050 Civic Center Place in Miramar, 33025.  The event will take place from 9AM to 2PM.

  • Saturday, September 21, at the former Pompano shelter, 3100 NW 19th Place, in Pompano Beach, 33064.  The event will take place from 9AM to NOON.

At both events, cost for a one-year rabies vaccination and Broward County Pet Registration Tag will be:

  • $25 if your pet is spayed or neutered

  • $35 if your pet is not spayed or neutered

Free microchips with registration will also be available. The microchips are funded by a grant provided by PetSmart Charities®. A microchip is a permanent form of identification. Once the chip is registered, pets are safeguarded in case they become lost or stolen. If your pet has already received a current rabies vaccination and license tag, please bring a COPY of the Rabies Certificate with you to the event.

You must be a Broward County resident to attend. No appointment is necessary and customers are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in carriers. No cash or checks please; only debit and credit cards will be accepted.
