- Anne Kolb Nature Center kicks off three-lecture series -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The latest three-month installment of the Family Fun Nature Series returns to Anne Kolb Nature Center (751 Sheridan St., Hollywood 33019; 954-357-5161). The long-running, recurring series provides a fun, affordable way to spend a Sunday afternoon learning about nature-related topics. The lectures will be from 2 to 3:30PM on Sundays, October 6th, November 3rd, and December 1st, in the park’s Mangrove Hall.

The topic for October’s lecture will be “Everything You Wanted to Know About Shells But Were Afraid to Ask,” which will feature information about sea shells – how they get their names, and the kinds you can find on Florida beaches. The presentation will be by Richard Sedlak of the Broward Shell Club.

Future topics include “Be a Good Angler!” and “Art & Nature.” A $2 donation is requested per lecture, to benefit the nature center’s Friends of Anne Kolb volunteer group, and preregistration is required a week in advance of each program.

For further information, call Anne Kolb at 954-357-5161, ext. 0.
