- Nature center offers second of three lectures -

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – The latest three-month installment of the Family Fun Nature Series is under way at Anne Kolb Nature Center (751 Sheridan St., Hollywood 33019; 954-357-5161). The long-running, recurring series provides a fun, affordable way to spend a Sunday afternoon learning about nature-related topics. The lectures are from 2 to 3:30PM on Sundays, November 3rd and December 1st, in the park’s Mangrove Hall.

October’s lecture covered “Everything You Wanted to Know About Shells But Were Afraid to Ask.” The middle lecture, on November 3rd, is “Be a Good Angler!” with presenter Kristen Hoss, of Tanawha Presents and Youth Environmental Alliance. She’ll provide hands-on learning about fish and what they eat, how to use a fishing rod, and how to tie a hook. Then participants will fish from the park’s pier. Bring your own gear, or borrow some from us. This is a catch-and-release event.

The third and final topic, on December 1st, will be “Art & Nature.” A $2 donation is requested per lecture, to benefit the nature center’s Friends of Anne Kolb volunteer group, and preregistration is required a week in advance of each program.

For further information, call Anne Kolb at 954-357-5161, ext. 0.
